Varkala beach located near Trivandrum is a marvellous beach with charming landscape.

It is also called Papanasam beach, for, people believe that a dip in the pristine waters wash away their sins. The view of a winding red laterite cliff formed by sedimentary deposits found here is a stunning experience. The formation has been declared as a geological monument by GSI.
