Thekkadi is one of the most visited hill stations situated on the Western Ghats. It is a serene land with enchanting rows of hills, tea plantations and salubrious climate.  Periyar wildlife sanctuary, the largest wildlife sanctuary in India, is the most prominent attraction in Thekkady. Spread over an area of 777 sq. kms, it is home to amazing wildlife including elephants, leopards, wild boars, guars, local and migratory birds, reptiles, and other mammals.

There are a handful of activities visitors can explore such as boating in the Periyar lake (this 2-hour ride is an opportunity to watch animals and birds at close quarters), hiking, trekking and bamboo rafting. Mangaladevi temple, Murikkady, Anakkara, Tribal heritage museum etc. are some of the nearby places to visit during the trip.
