Ponmudi is a hill station on the southern part of the Western Ghat mountain ranges. This pretty destination is enveloped with different types of plantations (tea, cardamom, and pepper), charming streams, waterfalls as well as diverse flora and fauna.   It is a great place that offers ample opportunities for trekking, hiking, and leisurely walks. The serene valley offers wonderful views down. The wildlife is characterised by extensive green cover. Travel to the peak along this winding route is a thrilling experience.

 

There are a few attractions around Pondmudi. Agasthyakoodam- one of the highest peaks on the Western Ghats after Anamalai, Meemutty waterfalls, Peppara wildlife sanctuary, Plantations estate and Deer Park are worth visiting.   Agasthyakoodam, considered as the heaven of medicinal herbs and plants, is also famous for bird watching.
