Athirappilli waterfalls, the largest waterfalls in Kerala, is a scintillating location perfect for picnic and enjoying nature. This amazing scenic splendour is located near Chalakkudi at the entrance to the Sholayar forest range on the Western Ghats. The falling of water from a height of over 80 ft. and crashing onto the ground will make the onlookers spellbound.   The adjacent serenity of the greenery is perfect for walks and while away the time.  The mesmerising beauty of the location has attracted a lot of film makers from the South and North India. It has been featured in the blockbuster movie ‘Bahubali’.

Vazhachaal, another water falls near (5 km) to Athirappilly, is an enjoyable location with diverse variety of flora around.  The surrounding dense forest here is a home to many endemic bird species. Bird watchers will get a pleasing time watching many a number of species of birds here.
