Aralam is a wildlife sanctuary nestled between the forests of Brahmagiri hills of Coorg and the Thirunelli hills of Wayanad, on the western side of Western Ghats. This is a serene and tranquil ecotourism zone extending to an area of 55 sq.km. with evergreen and semi-evergreen forests.

One can see some of the rare and endemic species of animals and plants of the Western Ghats in this sanctuary. Aralam offers immense opportunities for trekkers. Trekking to Ambalappara or Meenmutty waterfalls is an exciting experience, for, the journey through the forest gives enormous opportunity to sight birds and rare species of butterflies. This wildlife sanctuary is a home to 25 species of mammals, 188 species of birds, 22 species of reptiles, 16 species of amphibians and 39 species of fish.
