Kalarippayattu is an ancient martial art form originated in India. However, it is now predominantly practiced in Kerala. It is believed that Kalari had its beginning during the Vedic period. Through Bodhidhrama, a Budhist monk, this martial art went to China and other parts of the world, and now, it is performed in various forms and names in many counties.

 

Over the years kalarippayattu has gained widespread acknowledgement from all over the world and more and more people are coming forward to learn this martial art form. There are two fondly followed forms in Kalari-The North and South versions. Kalarippayattu training is completed in 4 stages starting from the basic lessons in the beginning. There is also an exclusive treatment and massage system in Kalari, which is used to treat injuries that happen during the Kalari training. Kalari Massage is intended mainly to creating a flexible and healthy body.
